[16 October 2015] UPDATED: The first State Visit to the UK by a Chinese President in ten years takes place on 20-23 October 2015. David Cameron and the British government have an opportunity to show the world there is more to UK-China relations than just trade and money. The Prime Minister should take a principled stand and speak up for those that the Chinese Communist Party continues to silence in Tibet and across China. Cameron - it is time to show your morals!

ACTION: Political Prisoner Profiles PDF Print E-mail
There are currently over 600 known political prisoners imprisoned in Tibet. Most have been jailed for peacefully expressing their dissatisfaction with China's policies in Tibet. In recent years there has been a growing trend by the Chinese government to silence ordinary Tibetans who speak up for human rights, promote the Tibetan identity or simply discuss the future of Tibet.

ACTION: Medical Parole for Tenzin Delek Rinpoche PDF Print E-mail
[UPDATED 9 June 2015] Tenzin Delek Rinpoche, a highly revered Tibetan Buddhist leader, is serving a life sentence on false charges of causing explosions. The only evidence presented at his trial was extracted by torture and he has consistently maintained his innocence.

Call on UK government to end its policy of "not supporting Tibetan independence" PDF Print E-mail
[19 March 2015] The UK government's annual Human Rights and Democracy report was released on 12 March. The section on Tibet begins with the UK's policy on Tibet, recognising Tibet as part of the People's Republic of China, and includes the statement that the UK government "does not support Tibetan independence". Not only is the policy irrelevant to the human rights report, the additional statement is contrary to Tibetans' rights of freedom of self-determination and expression.
