Report: The Human Rights Situation in Tibet: 2013-2016 PDF Print E-mail
[13 May 2016] Tibet Society has published a 12-page report, "The Human Rights Situation in Tibet: 2013-2016", summarising the abuses the Tibetan people have suffered since Xi Jinping came to power in March 2013, including the lack of freedoms of expression, information, movement and religion. The report also provides an overview of the recent repression of civil society, the wave of self-immolations and torture and deaths in prison. Specific cases are included to illustrate each area of abuse, with links and sources for more detailed analysis. The report concludes with a series of recommended actions for the UK government.
Tibetan former political prisoner to speak at UK Parliament PDF Print E-mail
[22 January 2016] Monk and former political prisoner Golog Jigme will be giving a public talk at the UK Parliament on 27 January 2016. The talk, hosted by the All Party Parliamentary Group for Tibet, in conjunction with Students for a Free Tibet UK and Tibet Society, is part of a worldwide tour to highlight China's abuse of Tibetan political prisoners.

Uprising 2015: Letter to the Chinese Ambassador PDF Print E-mail
[17 March 2015] Text of the letter to China's Ambassador to the UK from a coalition of UK-based Tibet groups including Tibet Society, on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising. Embassy officials refused to answer the door when representatives attempted to deliver the letter on 7 March. The letter was left on the doorstep and a copy was posted later to ensure it was received.
