Windhorse birthday message to the Dalai Lama PDF Print E-mail
Write a birthday message to the Dalai Lama on a special windhorse, or to Prime Minister David Cameron with a birthday request for the Dalai Lama and Tibet ...

Tibet Society is delighted to be jointly organising and hosting the inaugural Tibet Festival in the Park on 3 July (more details below), an exciting free festival that celebrates the Dalai Lamas 75th birthday with a fantastic afternoon of Tibetan entertainment we do hope you will be able to come along and join in the fun.

Dalai Lama birthday windhorse Amongst the many things to do and see, there will be a special lungta (windhorse) display that you can add to by writing your own birthday message to the Dalai Lama on a windhorse (paper prayer flag) or write to David Cameron asking him, as a birthday gesture of goodwill, to make a public statement affirming the governments commitment to furthering substantive dialogue between Tibetan representatives and the Chinese government.

You could also ask that he, along with other heads of governments, calls on Hu Jintao to meet with the Dalai Lama in person and thereby show the Chinese government is speaking the truth when, on commenting about the state of Sino-Tibetan negotiations, they say our door is always open.

If you can't join us on the day, then download a windhorse and send us your own special message, or email us a message that we will put on a windhorse.

Tibet Society will send all windhorses and messages displayed at the festival or received in the office by 6 July to the private office of the Dalai Lama and the Prime Minister.

If you would like to be sent some coloured windhorses to give to friends, your local school or local groups, please call Paul, our Campaigns and Membership Co-ordinator, on 020 7272 1414 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
