The Sussex Free Tibet Society, in partnership with Tibet Society, is hosting a four-day festival of Tibet events as part of the Brighton Fringe festival from Sunday 26 May to Wednesday 29 May 2013.

Tibet in Brighton: A Creative Investigation

Location: Brighton Media Centre, 15-17 Middle Street, Brighton BN1 1AL (see map below)

Exhibition times: Sun: 12noon-6pm, Mon-Wed: 9am-6pm

Sunday 26 May
12pm - 6pm: Exhibition in the gallery
6pm - 8.30pm: Opening Night

Artists Ugyen Choepell and Frances Fox (Art Refuge UK) will introduce the evening. Live poetry will be performed by N. Dhargyal and the film Leaving Fear Behind will be screened. Followed by a talk on the current situation in Tibet by Tibet Society's Campaigns Coordinator Paul Golding.

Monday 27 May
9am - 6pm: Exhibition in the gallery

Tuesday 28 May
9am - 6pm: Exhibition in the gallery
6pm - 8.30pm: Little Tibet & Q&A

A film screening of Little Tibet will be followed by a Q&A with co-director Joseph Brett. (Click here to view the trailer and find out more about the film.)

Wednesday 29 May
9am - 6pm: Exhibition in the gallery
6pm - 8.30pm: Escape from Tibet plus Soname Yangchen

The screening of Escape from Tibet will be introduced by director Nick Gray and one of the Tibetan refugees featured in the film. To be followed by a Q&A session. Acclaimed Tibetan singer, Soname Yangchen, will also be performing 'contemporary Tibetan mountain songs'. (Click here to find out more about Escape from Tibet and the accompanying book.)
