Where we get our money from
Like most organisations we get our money from a variety of sources. There is a distinction between the Society - which is not a charitable organisation and the Relief Fund - which is:
The Tibet Society of the UK
Could not register as a charity because much of its work is political in nature. This being the case it is entirely reliant on subscriptions from its members along with money raised from events organised for its purposes. This means we are very dependent on the support of people rather than organisations. Money subscribed or donated to the Society is accounted for separately and used for the Society's purposes only. The Tibet Relief Fund of the UK
Is the charitable arm - assisting Tibetans, whether as refugees abroad, or, where possible, within Tibet itself. As a charity we do have access to trusts, institutions, the National Lottery Charity Board and other NGOs. However, our core support will always be our members, donors, sponsors - people who have a consistent commitment to helping the Tibetan community. Money given to the Tibet Relief Fund is accounted for separately and is only used for charitable purposes, none of it is used for the work of the Tibet Society. Without your support, much of our work would not be possible. Any of the following can be used to give a gift to the work of the fund:
Regular giving
Making your gift tax efficient
