Tibet Uprising Anniversary 2014: UK Events
On 10 March 1959, Tibetans in Lhasa rose up against China's military occupation. The Chinese army quashed the uprising and subsequent nation-wide rebellion, killing at least 87,000 Tibetans. After the failed uprising, the Dalai Lama fled into exile and ever since the Tibetan people have had to endure a brutal regime.

The Tibetan National Uprising is commemorated annually with events remembering its victims and those of the ongoing occupation. Tibetans and supporters also call for an end to China's oppressive policies in Tibet and for action from the international community.

Show your support for freedom and justice for Tibet and express solidarity with Tibetans inside Tibet by participating in Tibet Lobby 2014 (12 March), the Tibet Freedom March (15 March), or one of the other events listed below.
